I myself am on one side of the war between Ukraine and Russia, but I don't take personal offense at someone who's on the opposing force. No linearity, or more like there exist different opinions, views & ideology, and it's in everybody's code to respect that. I don't know why people keep kicking or even banning players just for IMPLYING their support for, or preference of, a country/religion/etc. UGC is all about welcoming players to its servers (like virtually all communities are) and Not being a political enforcement, as long as a player doesn't come specifically to condemn a country and/or its citizens.

The community was founded by a Lithuanian person. Now imagine if a war erupted between Lithuania and, say, Finland; it would be such a clown show if Finnish people happened to be a larger group of admins in here and started kicking those who are pro-Lithuania. Or if a right-wing decided to clash with a left-wing because there is no absolute chance of co-existing even if unprovoked. It's exactly what's happening here when people put up nicknames such as Free/Palestine, Ukraine, Hamas... you name it.

You don't see people here or even in a server's chat reporting players for using these kinds of nicknames; snowflake admins shouldn't take it upon themselves and assume it's an offense to everybody, and it being reason enough to begin removing said players off their sight. Leave stuff well-enough alone until it becomes a problem to players, not the admins themselves.

its not just using it in the name, players spam it in chat. we're here to play a game not have a server full of people with names showing who they support in a war and spamming free palestine or fk israel or whatever in chat, it achieves nothing.

Speaking for TF2:

I have seen more bad then good with politic talks in UGC. Mainly on TF2. This is why we don't allow topics in servers because there is always an insane amount of disrespect and reports. If someone wants to have a "iStandWith" that's fine but if that is to cause issues in general they will be asked to change. Respectfully i think these types of talk should be only done in dms. Outside UGC entirely. Everyone has different views and there will be many incidents stemming from that alone

It is easy as that, to prevent such Discussions as this, Politics and also such Statements and Nicknames are banned from the Servers.

This has nothing to do with "Snowflake" Admins, as it is a mandatory rule set by UGC. No one is helped or cured with Nicknames like that, besides this, it only forces discussions that lead to no conclusion. The Staff Team of UGC is founded from around the World and follows no agenda for anyone, besides provide a place for peaceful Gamers. By the way, you named it yourself, any clash of groups would be not a good thing, so anything related to the ongoing wars/conflicts is forbidden.

I hope this answered your questions...

Politics aren't being discussed because politics actually aren't being discussed; the whole topic is simply overshadowed by some ideology. Regulate only when the time is right.

Why interfere when something achieves nothing? Being a troublemaker with words is one thing, being right or wrong with beliefs is another.

I agree on TF2 being a much more toxic environment. However, it should still be about limiting it all to chat interactions and nicknames that directly take a dig in an attempt to shove their "political" views on others.

This is not a place for politics, or for supporting or talking about any kind of political discourse

It's not like the whole server goes bananas when a player joins with a nickname showing they're With or Against some side of a story. It's supposedly adults playing the game, and as such should know not to get upset over something that is like the typical insult in a game's chat or a bad joke, meant to tick you off a little bit. Not to mention that Admins don't give it enough time to see whether or not a brawl is to develop over nicknames. Going for "righting" the "wrongs" while not certain isn't the way.

Involvement of war chants and disturbing comments into one group is bannable in our community and has been added to CS 1.6 rules.

This one is closed, thank you
